Matt Hill is quickly making a name for himself in the Omaha-area music scene. He has been employed in music ministry since 2003 and is active in the choral community at a city and statewide level. As the Artistic Director of Canticum Novum (www.cnomaha.com), a semi-professional adult choir in Omaha, Matt is striving to redefine the community's standard of choral excellence. In March 2007, Matt founded SingOmaha (www.singomaha.com), a non-profit choral organization, to "provide singers of all ages with the opportunity to study and perform choral music with like-minded people, while demanding a high level of artistic excellence, a dedication to musical integrity, and a mindset that puts people first." As a choral arranger, specializing in complete show choir shows, Matt has worked for high schools in the Omaha area and across the country. Matt studied voice, choral conducting and composition with Dr. Z. Randall Stroope. Other teachers include Jackson Berkey and Dr. James Johnson. Matt has performed as both a chorister and soloist with numerous Omaha-area ensembles including: Opera Omaha, the University of Nebraska at Omaha Concert Choir, Nebraska Choral Arts Society “Masterworks”, the Omaha Chamber Singers and Canticum Novum. |
